Abstract
Purpose: This study investigated the physical properties of fabricated porous hydrogel contact lenses that were formed by interpenetrating polymer network (IPN) structures of natural polysaccharides according to the temperature of the network formation.

Methods: A porous hydrogel contact lens was polymerized using a foaming agent, and an interpenetrating polymer network was processed with 1% alginate and collagen, followed by immersion in the solution at 25¨¬C, 37¨¬C, and 60¨¬C for 24 hours.

Results: Contact lenses with alginate have improved physical properties compared to contact lenses with collagen. As the network processing temperature improved, the water contents, wettability, and oxygen permeability decreased. Collagen networked contact lenses showed lower physical properties than basic contact lenses. The properties of the double networked contact lenses using alginate at 25¨¬C were superior.

Conclusions: It was confirmed that the temperature of the IPN process using polysaccharides in porous hydrogel contact lenses affects the properties of the contact lenses.
